Irish Panoramas
Loher Stone Fort Panorama
This construction was probably built in the early Christian period, approx 9th century, by a local landowner.
This was more likely a defended farmstead as opposed to a fort as the name would suggest.
This is not as big as Staigue stone fort, also on the Ring of Kerry, but has internal building walls and the remains of a underground passage probably used as a bolt hole.
